Did you know that there is a king`s palace in Sofia ?! Actually it`s an ex king`s palace because in Bulgaria there isn`t a king from a long time ago. But it`s a beautiful place, which is worthed to be seen.
The building of the palace was reconstructed after the old Turkish camp from 1880 to 1882. Actually in this period the city of Sofia was spread to the place of the palace. In the government of the first Bulgarian ruler after Bulgarian liberation from Turkish slavery – Prince Aleksander Batenberg, the palace was completely changesd and architecture elements from Rococo and Baroque were added. After the 9 of September 1944, when in Bulgaria the communists took possession of the national authority, one of the best hall in the palace became a George`s Dimitrov cabinet.
Today the buillding is working as a National Art Gallery with more then 12 000 paints and the exhibitions of The National Ethnography Museum.
