The building is finished in 1912. The conceptual design was created by the Austrian architect F.Gryunanger and the remarkable Bulgarian architect P.Momchilov. For the time of its construction the building is furnished with the most modern and high-quality facilities and equipment.
The building of the central bathroom is a valuable highly artistic and architectural cultural heritage of national importance. In its exterior can be seen harmoniously combined different architectural styles and trends from the first decade of the XX century in Bulgaria, as well as influences from medieval construction Bulgarian art. Extremely impressive is the interior of the building - open general porostranstva elegant metal railings of winding stairs.
In 1998 it was decided that the building will become a Museum of Sofia.
Today incide the Museum of History of Sofia there is a permanent exhibition located in 11 halls with a total exhibition area of 3783 sq.m, including a hall for temporary exhibitions and educational museum.
