Eco-trail "Beli Iskar" starts from the end of the village of Beli Iskar, situated 70 km from Bulgaria's capital city - Sofia and 9 km from the town of Samokov. At the beginning of the trail there is a big parking area. The eco-trail runs along the border of Rila National Park. Its length is 7.5 kilometers. You need about three hours to relax and enjoy the walk. The beginning of the trail is at an altitude 1215 meters, and the highest point and is 1528 m. The trail enters the woods, then passes through the Beli Iskar river. Along the river there are eight large and five small wooden bridges. There are also recreation areas with tables and benches. Between the bridges there are plenty of boards that give information about the area, water, rocks, flora and fauna that are typical for the area. The location of this trail is not accidental. Alternating valleys, narrow gorges, riverside relief and coniferous forests in a picturesque manner presents the beauty of Rila Mountain. After the last bridge the trail reaches a dirt road that goes back to the parking lot. The location is most suitable for walking and picnic in the spring and summer.
