The Oktoberfest is the world's largest Volksfest -beer festival and travelling funfair.
The Oktoberfest is held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The Oktoberfest is a 16- to 18-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October. Every year during the festival there are more than 6 million people from around the world who are attending the event.
Locally, it is often called the Wiesn, after the colloquial name for the fairgrounds, Theresa's Fields(Theresienwiese).
The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture. The festival was first held in 1810.
Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations that are inspired after the original Munich festival.

Due to the undeniable fact that billions of people love and drink beer, in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California was held the very first International Beer Day! The International beer day celebration is held worldwide on the first Friday of August which makes the date to vary almost every year.
Since its inception, International Beer Day has grown from a small localized event in the western United States into a worldwide celebration spanning 207 cities, 50 countries and 6 continents.
The International Beer Day has three declared purposes:
To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.
